WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
Appian Creek and San Pablo Watershed Mural
Appian creek in El Sobrante California, is a year round creek which is part of the San Pablo Watershed, a vast and complex network that reaches far and wide. Much of the creek is buried some is contaminated, but with local efforts the creek is healing. Natural wildlife systems are coming back.
The mural, ” Titled We Are All In This Together” imagines a birds /gods eye view of our watershed from Orinda to Richmond harbor. The creek aglow, enlivened by an array of animals native to our community.
These ghost like animals, not only pay homage to California’s wild past and harmony with indigenous human communities , their glowing spirits represent a hope for the future.
